As a vegan for six years now, I've tried at least a dozen types of plant meat. Some of them were acceptable (though expensive), and some I threw away after taking the first bite. But I never get tired of experimenting, so here is my review of the meat free burgers, Superboly-eat-me-at, and plant based ground beef from Eat Me At that I recently tried.

Why Is It So Difficult to Choose Plant Based Meat Products?

Creating a product out of soy, water, and spices that tastes like meat is a challenge. Sometimes, a product is too hard or, on the contrary, looks like soggy bread. Sometimes, it's too bland or too peppery. So, when I order vegan meat online, I usually don't expect a real cutlet or prosciutto. I hope that the product will be tasty enough so that I can realize my vegetarian meal ideas such as lasagna or bolognese.

But recently, my requirements for vegetarian meat have changed because I've tried really tasty plant mince from Eat Me At. I've already cooked several healthy vegan recipes with it, so I'm ready to share my impressions.

What Makes Plant Beef from Eat Me At Special?

In fact, Eat Me At products are either actual vegan minced meat or products based on it (plant based patty for non meat burgers or vegan meatballs frozen). Here are their advantages:

  • Structure. They are easy to chew but not too soft. There is elasticity, and the structure is really similar to meat.

  • Taste. I'm vegan for ethical reasons, so I've always missed the taste of meat. These meat free meatballs and other products are some of the few that taste like the real thing. The minced meat has a less pronounced flavor, with only salt as a spice. I have implemented my vegan meal ideas and cooked bolognese, lasagna, kebabs, and stuffed zucchini. But cutlets and meatballs have a more pronounced spicy taste. They are just the thing for a side dish.

  • Cooking. Three minutes in a frying pan or grill — and you're done. Cooking meat free burgers takes about 10 minutes.

My impressions are extremely positive. So far, I have found the best cutlets, minced meat, and the best vegetarian meatballs to buy. I do advise you to try them.
